Even if hybrids die, the Honda Insight will stay a tuner favorite.
The Honda Insight was sold and slipped away from production before most of us could even notice. Many of us knew it barely tipped the scales past the beloved CRX, it was a hybrid, and got great MPG.
LHT knew the potential of the Insight and, removing the Intergrated Motor Assist, did what any of us would do and sourced a K20a! It has been tuned to 200 whp, with a JDM 6 speed transmission. The car has the factory AC, factory mounts (apparently, it's so smooth, you can tell it shift into gear in the driver's seat!), upgraded suspension, and welded-in braces and, to top it of, Honda S2000 gauges. The K20a Insight is also reported to pulling 48+ mpg figures which ain't too shabby considering the mods for it. If the LHT folks can pull this off, I need to contact them to turbo my DD Civic Hybrid! More pics of the LHT K20A hybrid here
