Hello all hope you can help, a little while ago my CRV had a small piece missing from an exhaust valve My dealer did the repair but now the car gives a big puff of blue smoke when moving away from traffic lights this is new could there be a problem with the valve seals.Any suggestions etc I would be very grateful Nigel

2. The blue smoke is produced by the engine burning oil. If it only comes in the morning, that more than likely points to worn out valve seals.

The valve seals keep oil from leaking into the firing chambers in the head. When you park your car (like overnight), a bit of oil more than likely enters one of the firing chambers (a couple of the valves may have been left on the open position when you shut off the engine), and a small couple of drops of oil is enough to create a pretty big cloud of blue tinged smoke. I hope this Helps shed some light on the problem.
