Living life on a tight budget can especially suck when it comes to cars. I've known a lot of people who've given up pretty much their lives for their cars. They've sacrifed food for car parts, going out for car parts, tuition money for car parts. While I haven't exactly starved myself for mods, I've done my share of cutting corners on the budget to be able afford some nice aftermarket goodies.
And so my dilemma gets worse. I've recently been offered an H22 for quite a bargain and I really don't know what to do. Practicality tells me to pass on the deal since commuting over 2000 miles a month and being stuck in traffic most of the time doesn't necessitate power as much as it does fuel economy. Passion, however, begs me to discover how an H22 in my '95 del Sol would feel.
Mmm... torque.
I neglect--maybe even purposefully neglect--to mention what engine is in my Sol at the moment.
B16? Nope.
D16? Nope.
D15? Yup.
Non- VTEC? Yup.
There, I admitted it. I currently survive off a D15B7. Laugh all you want, but this little engine gets me 36-40 mpg. It's awesome for fuel economy. For power, well let's just not talk about that part.
Life sucks when your project car happens to also be your daily driver. Any mods I do need to be completed before the end of sunset on Sunday, so the car can be drivable on Monday. And about the H22 or the D15, what to go for? Power or practicality?
