So you just bought the wife an Element, you hit a road block on your own project and your looking for something to do this weekend. Well you won't be the first to do it, but I am pretty sure if you built twenty of these they would still all have the same amount of cool factor as the first.
Apparently some bored engineers at Honda decided to make something that would really stand out at this years SEMA show. They already knew that tuned Fits would be everywhere. Civics have been done so many times at SEMA that unless it has the ability to fly it won't turn any heads, and can you really build an NSX or S2000 that would be able compete with the serious hardware other tuners bring to the show?
So do something different must have been the state of mind. Lets get an Element, make it rear wheel drive, and then put a 500hp 3.2 liter twin turbo six under the hood. The Element would never be my first choice of a starting point for any project, unless I was building the ultimate rolling shed, but hey thats just me. I give them credit for having some imagination. They actually showed up with something that no one else did. I saw plenty of cars that had 100s of man hours and thousands of dollars thrown at them, and they really didn't look that different from the same car that was two booths down.
I really can't wait for the first version of this car done by some lunatic in his garage. It is stuff like this that keeps me being a car guy.
